I visited Italy for the first time in April 2018 and went straight to check in at a hotel in Milan. The receptionist was a friendly gentleman in his late 50s. He asked for my passport, so I handed it to him.
He looked at my passport, his computer screen and said Allora. Then I said no sir, my name is not Allora. I am blah blah blah… He looked at me and said no no I know, I am just looking at your reservation detail… Allora, here is your room key madam.
So later I learned that, for Italians, they say allora all the time! It basically means OK, Well, Then 🙂
